Car crashes into traffic light in Kilburn leaving scene of devastation on road

A car crashed into a traffic light on a London road, leaving a scene of devastation. An online video shows the area covered in waste and debris from the crash.

Police were called to reports of a car colliding with a traffic light in Kilburn in the early hours of this morning, at about 2.15am (Sunday, September 29). The driver of the car had left before police arrived at the scene on Kilburn High Road.

An online video showed the devastation left behind by the incident, including an abandoned car with a smashed up bonnet. The video also shows a large pole lying next to it, as well as a damaged Lime Bike.

In the video there is a police cordon in place, with an officers car visible at the scene. There also appears to be a vehicle recovery lorry at work.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 02:15hrs on Sunday, 29 September to reports of a car in collision with a traffic light in Kilburn High Road, NW6.

“The driver of the car left the scene prior to police arrival and enquiries are ongoing to locate them. No reports of any serious injuries. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

“Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD759/29Sep.”
