Car Flies Over Tow Truck on Georgia Highway as Deputies Respond to Separate Crash

A motorist on a Georgia highway flew through the air after their car drove onto the ramp of a stationary tow truck while deputies were responding to a separate crash on May 24.

Bodycam footage released by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) shows the deputies at the scene of an unrelated crash along Highway 84 in the southern part of the state.

As a deputy walks toward the wreckage, a car on the other side of the highway is captured whizzing toward a tow truck parked on the other side of the highway, launching into the air, and landing upright.

The driver, a Florida woman, “survived but was hospitalized with serious injuries,” local media reported, citing local officials.

An LCSO deputy was also taken to a local hospital after being hit by debris from the incident, according to the report. Credit: Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
