A car flipped onto its roof after the driver swerved to avoid a deer.

Fire crews were called to the A1M near Boroughbridge at just before 2.30am on Saturday night.

They found a woman passenger trapped inside the car, and were able to release her.

Sgt Paul Cording of North Yorkshire Police's roads policing team tweeted: "The passenger was trapped on arrival, but with the assistance of the #999Family she managed to get out & thankfully there were no injuries to either her or the driver."
