Car flips on side in multi-vehicle crash on M8 in Glasgow as four people injured

A car flipped onto its side in a three-vehicle crash on the M8 in Glasgow.

Emergency crews raced to the scene at junction 10 near Easterhouse at around 5.57pm on Thursday, August 29.

Four people were injured but there is no information on their condition at this stage.

Motorists are advised that two lanes on the road are restricted and delays expected.

An image shows an ambulance and fire appliance at the scene, with around a dozen officers standing nearby.

Another shows traffic starting to build up in the area.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We recieved a call at 5:57pm reporting a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the M8 westbound at junction 10.

"We mobilised four pumps and there were four casualties. We don't have any further details on the casualties."

A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland said: "Lanes 1 and 2 (of 3) on the Westbound carriageway are restricted due to a multi-vehicle collision. Traffic is very heavy in the area, and delays are approx. 15 mins."

Police Scotland were also contacted for comment.
