Car left on roof after three-vehicle Staffordshire smash

Police, paramedics and firefighters have been called to a collision on a busy Staffordshire road. Two fire engines have been among the resources sent to the three-car smash in Penkridge - with one car left on its roof.

The collision occurred on Stafford Road at around 4.20pm this afternoon. Firefighters from Stafford Fire Station were called out.

A spokesperson for the crew said: "On arrival the incident commander quickly gathered information to find a three-vehicle collision involving one vehicle which had rolled over onto its roof. One casualty self-extricated and was sent to hospital. Two other casualties had pre-cautionary checks by West Midlands Ambulance Service. One vehicle was made safe."

Staffordshire Police are said to have organised recovery from the scene and were helping with traffic control. The road was back fully open at around 6.25pm.
