This shocking image shows the devastating caused to a family home when a car ploughed into their living room.

Robert Beattie, wife Mel and their daughter Tash, 15, were sitting watching television when the vehicle smashed into their house.

Mel and Tash suffered broken bones and are recovering in hospital.

Robert said it felt like a miracle that his family survived.

He said: ‘I got my wife out into the kitchen area as best I could, she was very dazed and confused.

‘I then had to go back outside, through the opening, to rescue my daughter from the other side of the car who was again shocked and confused and I carried her back round to the kitchen.’

Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Worcester on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has since been arrested under investigation.
