Car set on fire deliberately in Wishaw late night attack as witnesses sought

Police in North Lanarkshire are searching for witnesses after a 'wilful' car fire.

The alleged arson occurred on Curlinghaugh Crescent, Wishaw, on Monday evening (November 4). Firefighters raced to the scene and extinguished the fire around 9.15pm.

No injuries were reported. Detectives are urging witnesses and those who may have CCTV footage to come forward.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland: "Detectives are appealing for information following a car fire in Wishaw. The fire happened around 9.15pm on Monday, 4 November, 2024 on Curlinghaugh Crescent.

"The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reported injuries. Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the fire is asked to contact police.

"We also ask anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward. Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting incident 3823 of 4 November, 2024.
