Car Sinks Into Sand in Alabama as Tropical Storm Barry Nears

High tides ahead of Tropical Storm Barry caused water and sand to flood roadways in Dauphin Island, Alabama, on Friday, July 12, according to local news reports.

This footage, taken on Friday, shows a car stuck nearly halfway under sand on Dauphin Island, as seawater washes up around it. Other videos of the car show that it was parked close to homes.

The National Weather Service had issued multiple severe weather advisories for Dauphin Island, warning of a brief tornado, rip currents, and flash flooding.
