This is the shocking moment a teenage car thief was caught deliberately ramming a police officer off his motorbike in a stolen car.
Callum Fellows, 18, was behind the wheel of a dark-blue Seat Leon that was being followed by PC Steve Lovering on 27 August.
When the car stopped at traffic lights the officer drove up to the driver's door, but Fellows suddenly reversed before steering straight into Lovering's BMW bike.
CCTV and the Lovering’s body-cam captured the moment the officer was sent sprawling on to Ashes Road in Oldbury, West Midlands.
The officer is heard shouting out in pain before radioing colleagues for help as Fellows speeds away.
Fellows narrowly missed running over the officer when he careered onto the wrong side of the road before going through red traffic lights.
Shocked members of the public are seen rushing to help Lovering, while one woman snaps Fellows’ registration number on her mobile phone.
One man asks the officer: “Are you all right? Are you sure you don’t need to sit down?”
Other witnesses then help the officer haul his motorcycle up off the road following the incident.
Fellows was later caught and the Seat was revealed to have been stolen in a car key burglary days earlier.
Lovering picked Fellows out in an ID parade and he was arrested.
Lovering said: “It was pure luck that there weren’t any cars near me when I was knocked off the bike, as it could have been much worse.
“I had some some back and shoulder pain, but nothing was broken.
“It was really heartening to see so many people stopping to help and check that I was OK and offer their help.”
Fellows, of Wolverhampton, admitted assault, dangerous driving, criminal damage and driving while disqualified.
He also admitted receiving stolen goods, three other charges of dangerous driving and disqualified driving, as well as stealing a motor vehicle and is awaiting sentencing.
