Caravan fire forces road closure in Bristol suburb as vehicle bursts into flames

A major road was closed after a caravan caught fire in Bristol last night, Friday, June 28. Multiple fire engines were sent to reports of a caravan fire in north Bristol. No other buildings in the area are said to have been affected, however, some hedges were damaged due to the blaze.

The incident happened in Ridgeway Road, in Fishponds, at around 9.35pm. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and will be investigated over the course of today, Saturday, June 29.

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Avon fire and Rescue service was called to a caravan on fire, Ridgeway road, Fishponds at 21:35hrs. We sent three fire engines to deal with the fire which also involved some nearby hedges.

"There were no other buildings were affected by the fire and nobody within the caravan at the time of the fire. The fire has now been extinguished. The cause of the fire will be looked at."
