Yahoo News Cardi B Has Filed For Divorce From Offset After Three Years Of Marriage
Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset after three years of marriage, according to multiple news outlets.
E! news reports that the 'WAP' rapper filed to dissolve her marriage in the state of Georgia on September 14, with court documents describing the marriage as 'irretrievably broken' and stating that there are 'no prospects' for a reconciliation for the couple.
The couple share a two-year-old daughter, Kulture, and Cardi has reportedly requested child support from the Migos rapper.
The two rappers privately married in September 2017, at home in front of two of Cardi's cousins with the 27-year-old wearing 'no make-up and no dress', but the couple didn't reveal their new husband and wife status until months later.
The super low-key wedding followed a very public proposal during which Offset got down on one knee and presented his then-girlfriend with a ring on stage at a concert in Philadelphia.
The couple have had a high-profile up-and-down relationship with Cardi originally saying the couple were splitting up in 2018 after rumours of Offset's infidelity came to light.
Offset, who makes up one third of Hip-Hop trio Migos, publicly apologised to Cardi on Instagram for cheating and also appeared on stage at one of her performances with a display of roses which spelled out, 'Take me back, Cardi' - a move that was largely criticised by Cardi's fans.
Discussing the trials and tribulations of their relationship in the September issue of ELLE US, Cardi said: 'I do know that my relationship has a lot of drama and everything. But there’s a lot of love there’s a lot of passion, there’s a lot of trust, there’s a big friendship. It’s always us against the world.'
