Job interviews can be daunting, but thorough preparation remains the key to success.

Although knowing your own background and the potential employer's operations is vital, it's crucial to have questions for the interviewer prepared to find out if the company and role are the right fit for you.

Thankfully, a career expert has shared her selection of six "impressive" questions that could make an interviewer take notice.

TikTok user Erin McGoff advised her audience: "Six impressive questions to ask at the end of a job interview that will make the recruiter say, 'dammmmnnnnnn'."

Outlining what to do and what not to do, she advised against asking no questions or being presumptive and assuming the job is already yours with holiday requests.

Instead, Erin recommended having questions ready but starting first by checking on the interviewer's schedule by asking if time permitted further discussion. She then listed the six queries she believes can significantly enhance an interviewee's standing.

  1. If I were to start this position today, who would I be reporting to?

  2. I read on the company website that you value sustainability. Can you tell me a little bit more about how that's implemented?

  3. How did COVID affect business and the company culture?

  4. I recently saw on the news that Company B launched an AI product. Will company AP following suit?

  5. I'm really interested in this position is there anything else that I could elaborate on to strengthen my application?

  6. Thanking the interviewer for their time and inquiring about when to expect feedback on the next steps.

The video also prompted viewers to offer their own savvy questions. One viewer commented: "I always ask: what are the qualities you feel make your employees the most successful? Their answer reveals a lot about whether or not you would be happy working there."

Another shared: "I asked the boss how she would describe her leadership style. I want to know if the company is a good fit for me but I also knew it was a topic she was passionate about. Got feedback they were impressed." While a third excitedly posted: "I have an interview tomorrow, definitely adding these to my list of questions!"
