A man says he never wants to eat a McDonald's again after claiming he found a squeeze bottle nozzle in his burger. On Friday, September 20, Reece Higgins placed a large order for his family on JustEat from his closest McDonald's, the restaurant in Arnold.

He spent around £45 on various items, including a Philly Cheese Stack Burger for himself, which costs around £5.80. The burger is one of the new limited edition items on the fast food chain's menu and includes two beef patties, two slices of cheese, pickles, crispy and grilled onions and a special cheese sauce.

However, Mr Higgins said he found an extra item in his food which left him "disgusted". After taking a bite of his burger, Mr Higgins, of Carlton, explained that he could feel something rubbery in his mouth.

The 32-year-old said: "It just made me heave, and I just thought what is that. There was this massive rubbery thing in my burger, I spat it out." Mr Higgins, who works as a paint technician, explained that he has been put off McDonald's since the incident and is thankful it was in his burger and not in his son's.

He said: "I told him what I had and he was going to take a bite of it, but then he tried the sauce and didn't like it. It's not good, if that was a child eating that then they could have choked."

Mr Higgins feels that there should be more checks when it comes to quality control and labelled the incident as being "out of order."

He said he went into the McDonald's store in Arnold on Saturday, September 21, to raise concern and complain about what happened. He has since also emailed in a complaint and said he has been offered a £10 voucher.

But Mr Higgins said he had been "put off" McDonald's food now.

Nottinghamshire Live approached McDonald's for comment. A McDonald's spokesperson said: “Food safety is of the utmost importance to us and we place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards to avoid any imperfections.

"We would welcome the opportunity to investigate this matter further, however the customer’s refusal to provide the object in question makes it difficult for us to do so."
