Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul join in remembering Kobe Bryant

The deaths of Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others has permeated American culture, from late-night shows to the Grammys. It has reached across the Atlantic Ocean and across the Pacific Ocean.

Most of all, the devastation of the moment has been seen among the NBA’s elite, losing one of their own decades too early.

Two more NBA greats joined the wave of tributes and remembrances for Bryant, as Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul posted direct statements to the Los Angeles Lakers legend on Instagram. It was a breaking of silence for Paul, who sat out a game on Monday to deal with the news.

The pain behind their words is clearly visible.

Those posts join a number of Bryant’s contemporaries reacting to the news, including Anthony and Paul’s two best friends in the league.
