Former Countdown's Carol Vorderman has confirmed she'll be missing her usual LBC show today due to ill health. The 63-year-old admitted feeling poorly and "everything aches".

She shared the news on X, the rebranded social media platform previously known as Twitter, informing her 980,000 followers: "Morning lovelies. Woke to feeling quite a bit poorly today so not going to make it to London for my @lbc show. Had some cracking subjects for you too." (sic).

This Morning personality Vanessa Feltz will take over Carol's usual 3pm to 6pm slot. Carol said: "Vanessa will be sitting in for me today. I'll be back next Sunday. Sorry xx."

Carol then humorously added: "Everything aches (Can I blame the Tories? )" with a wink emoji. Vorderman has been outspoken about her disapproval of the Conservative Party and active in campaigning for Labour, reports the Express.

Carol's fans responded with messages of support in the comments section. One wrote: "We can blame the Tories for most things of late so why not?"

"Hope you're feeling well very soon lovely," another message read alongside a heart emoji.

"Get well soon queen," a follower commented, another added: "Oh dear, get well soon and do test for covid. Xxx" (sic).

A fourth fan remarked: "Get well soon you wonderful human, your country needs you! " paired with a laughing emoji.

"Better to get the illness out of the way now and be on top form for the next 4 weeks! Lemsip, pj's and duvet for a few days xxx." (sic).

Carol has been in the spotlight for her outspoken political opinions lately, receiving both commendation and criticism. She left her position at BBC Radio Wales last year due to breaching BBC rules by making strong criticisms of the government on social media, but she has since joined LBC.

Tune into Vanessa Feltz's show on LBC from 3pm to 6pm this afternoon.
