Vorderman warned that she wouldn't be holding back in her opinions as she wrote on Instagram: "CELEBRITY GOGGLEBOX...So I'm making my debut this Friday 9pm on one of my favourite shows of all time and joining the @c4gogglebox gang....with my friend of 40 years @gylesbrandreth....

"Watch this week and let me know if you agree....we're a bit vocal....no holds barred."

Brandreth's previous Gogglebox partners have included Joanna Lumley, Maureen Lipman and Sheila Hancock.

Earlier this year, Lipman spoke out about her disappointment in appearing on the show, saying she left because they weren't interested in her wit.

She told the Radio Times: "It is [over] from my point of view. I’m sure they’ll put someone else with Gyles.

"I went in imagining that they wanted me for my wit and my brain. Of course, they just want to show you willies and for you to be shocked.

"Honestly, we were really funny together, but none of that was used. And if they don't want to use what we gave them, f*** them."

Viewers will have to wait to find out whether Vorderman's debut will include her giving her opinions on her old show Countdown, which includes successor Rachel Riley and soon-to-depart host Anne Robinson.
