Carol Vorderman has bid farewell to her £2.6m 'party' mansion to live in a converted van.

The former Countdown star, 60, shared pictures of five-bedroom Sloblock Hall near Bristol — which boasts a swimming pool, pool house and spacious open-plan living area — as she told her 193,000 Instagram followers of her plans to live in a converted off-road van next year.

Vorderman reminisced: "Goodbye my happy place..... So many wicked parties.....so so many brilliant memories.

"I'm a lucky woman. And now I'm moving on to yet more new adventures.

"Wishing the new family who call you home now every happiness and health and laughter.

"Cheers SLOBLOCK. We had a blast."

Just days earlier the Welsh TV presented revealed she had purchased a brand new four-wheel-drive van with plans to convert it into "my new home" in order to live an adventurous life on the road in 2022.

She shared: "Here is my sparkling new Vorder Van.... She's fresh off the production line. A 4x4 to get across rocky terrain and into and OUT OF fields."

Vorderman revealed she plans to have the van adapted for off-road driving over rough terrain and is working on the designs to have it converted into a mobile home. And she promised to share updates on how it is going with her followers.

She added: "God I'm excited about this. Plan is for her to be ready by end March for proper adventuring. Bliss."

Vorderman bought Sloblock Hall in 2007 for £1.1m shortly after she split form BT Sport presenter Des Kelly, her partner for six years.
