Carol Vorderman's brilliant response as I’m A Celeb's Melvin shares 'major crush'

Carol Vorderman has said she'll see Melvin Odoom 'on the other side' as she reacted to the news he had a 'major crush' on her. The Radio 1 DJ, who was currently starring in the new series of I'm A Celebrity, said Carol was his 'dream woman' - and went on to 'ask her out', live on TV.

Melvin, who has a pillow emblazoned with Carol's face on as his luxury item, discussed his romantic desires with fellow campmate Tulisa Contostavlos during last night's episode of the ITV show. After he admitted shying away from talking to her at the Pride of Britain awards, Tulisa encouraged him to 'grab the bull by the horns'.

Tulisa added: "A strong woman like that is gonna appreciate you going: 'I just wanna say I think you're a sensational woman and I'd love to take you out for a drink and get to know you if you'd be happy to oblige me.'"

The celebrities then encouraged Melvin to act out how he would approach Carol for a date, The Sun reports. As Tulisa took on the role of Carol, Melvin said: "You look sensational today, you're actually glowing. Listen, I've booked a restaurant for next week. It's going to be Thai food, all expenses paid and I'm going to send a cab to your house for about 8 o'clock. See you there."

After seeing the show, former Countdown star Carol, who has also enjoyed a spell in the I'm A Celeb jungle, sent a voicenote to spin-off show Unpacked. She said: "Melvin, or should I say Jungle Man.. Jungle Man, Melvin Vorderman... It sounds the same to me.

"Right, question. Have you been spying on me? Because only last night I had a little Thai food. In fact my menu was Pad Thai, quite a lot of it, with a little chicken satay on the side, and it was delicious, Jungle Man.

"Anyway keep doing what you're doing. You're doing a brilliant job. See you on the other side."
