Andrew Brady has broken his silence on his split from Caroline Flack.
It was then reported that the Love Island host wrote on a personal Facebook page that she had discovered her ex-fiancé was having a meeting with Celebs Go Dating producers just one day after their break up.
In an Instagram story, the former Celebrity Big Brother star revealed the rumours were true and that he deeply regretted it.
"I never comment on media speculation or stories. But in this instance I feel it necessary to," he wrote.
"Yes I had a meeting (with) Celebs Go Dating after Caroline and I had separated. However, this was wrong. When someone has no money and nothing to lose they tend to do crazy irrational things.
"I am ashamed and trying to move on with my life. Please would you respect mine and Caroline's privacy and not try and speculate on who said or did what."
Caroline and Andrew released similar statements announcing their break-up earlier this week, with both admitting they were "sad" to be parting ways after six months of dating.
"I'm sad to announce that Andrew and I have decided to part ways," she wrote. "Unfortunately it was not to be. I wish him all the best.
"At least there's a villa waiting for me. It's back to the ol' grafting."
Caroline later hit out at speculation that she'd revealed the reason behind the split. "I've revealed nothing," she responded to a tweet.
"We wish each other well... Please please just give us our space and let us have some privacy right now thanks x."
