Caroline Flack has revealed that filming for the new series of Love Island officially kicks off this week, confessing her excitement at “potentially” meeting the cast.

The ITV2 presenter, who fronts the summer dating show, let fans into a big secret on Easter Monday as she explained that this week is a “big week” for the new series.

“What’s really exciting about this week is that we start filming for Love Island 2019,” Flack told her fans on her Instagram story. “By the end of the week I am going to have potentially seen the cast for this year.

“That is really exciting and mad that it’s come around this quick, so I’ll let you know what happens. It’s going to be a long, hot summer and all that.

Flack’s exciting information comes days after the rumour mill started turning for the new series, following speculation that Lotan Carter could be headed to the villa.

According to reports, the former Dreamboys stripper has been in talks with producers two years on from his stint on Big Brother.

In 2017, Carter was kicked out of the Elstree house for “unacceptable behaviour” after he threw a bottle during an explosive argument about being a role model to his son.

“Lotan’s really up for it and he’s been training so he looks his best on camera,” a source told The Sun Online.

“He’s got some really good stories about celebs, though, and would make great TV.”

The insider added that Carter was ready to “settle down” with his perfect match, hoping to use the reality series to find The One.

After a smash-hit third series of Love Island, it was reported that around 80,000 people applied to be considered for series four within a month of Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay walking away with the prize.

Love Island will return to ITV2 this summer.
