A new restaurant has opened its doors in Co Antrim. Luna, at North Street in Carrickfergus, is owned by local entrepreneur Neil Johnston and launched last month.

Neil says Luna "is more than just a place to grab a coffee or enjoy some amazing food". He added that when you step inside, you'll smell freshly brewed coffee and and see the 'stylish and cosy' decor.

The owner said: "We wanted to create a space that celebrates everything special about Northern Ireland and Carrickfergus while offering something fresh and new.

Local resident and frequent diner, Lisa Holmes, said: "Luna is exactly what Carrickfergus needed. It's not just a place to eat; it's a place to gather, to celebrate, and to hope. Seeing a new business thrive here gives us all a reason to believe in better days ahead."

Luna's menu features a variety of dishes 'that cater to all tastes, from locally sourced seafood to vegetarian delights, all crafted with a modern twist'.

The restaurant also says it emphasizes sustainability, with efforts to minimize waste and source ingredients from local farmers and producers.

A statement continued: "The opening of Luna is more than just an economic boost; it is a cultural milestone for Carrickfergus. It serves as a reminder that amidst the closures and uncertainties, there is always room for new beginnings. As diners enjoy their meals under the soft glow of Luna's lights, they are not just experiencing a night out—they are part of a broader narrative of hope and renewal.

"As Carrickfergus continues to navigate the complexities of the current economic landscape, the success of Luna stands as a beacon of what can be achieved with passion, perseverance, and community support. Here is to Luna, a new star in our town, lighting the way forward."
