Cars Submerged in Brooklyn as Floods Paralyze Parts of New York City

Train service was disrupted across New York City on Friday, September 29, as heavy rain led to major flooding across the area, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency for New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley amid the heavy downpours.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for most of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, in effect until Friday afternoon.
