Cars torched and scrawled with graffiti in 'linked' attacks
An investigation has been launched after police linked two arson attacks on Wirral. Fire crews were called to a car fire on Durley Drive, Prenton around 7.10am yesterday, Wednesday November 13.
Later that same day, at around 9pm, fire crews were called to a car on fire on Euston Grove, Oxton. Both cars suffered significant damage in the fires, and are being forensically examined.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in those areas around the time of the fires, or anyone who may have CCTV or doorbell footage from around the times of the incident to come forward.

Detective Inspector Andrew Schofield said: “We believe that these incidents may be linked, due to graffiti being found on the vehicles. At this early stage, we are keeping an open mind as to the motive, and will continue to support the victims as our investigation continues. We’re also aware and investigating two incidents where vehicles have been damaged by similar graffiti.
“The recklessness of setting vehicles alight so close to residential premises is clear to see, and thankfully no injuries were caused. We are determined to find those responsible as soon as possible. If you have any information, live or were passing by the locations, please check your CCTV, dashcam or other devices and come forward.”
Local Policing Inspector Sharon Robinson said: “We understand the concern that such incidents have caused and officers will be in the area to gather information and provide reassurance to residents. We are taking these incidents extremely seriously and will do all we can to target and put before the courts those involved.”
