The mother of a teenage girl who was killed in a car crash in Canterbury has reportedly died days later.

Natalie Hood, from Dover, died after she lost her daughter Casey, 18, in a collision in Womenswold, according to tributes by friends on social media.

Her daughter, an identical twin, had died in a crash in the early hours of Friday morning, KentLive reported.

Another woman was also seriously injured in the crash and died on Sunday.

Writing about her daughter, Ms Hood had heartbreakingly posted on Facebook on Saturday saying: “I just want my little girl back xxx”.

The exact circumstances around Ms Hood’s death are not known yet.

Friends of Natalie and Casey have already paid tribute on social media to the pair, with one friend calling Casey a “beautiful soul taken too early”.

Alysha McIntosh wrote: “I’m honestly so lost for words. I just can’t believe it. You were known and loved by so many people and you will surely be missed for eternity.

“RIP Casey & Natalie. Gone but definitely not forgotten.”

Following the mother and daughter’s deaths, a friend has set up a Just Giving page to help pay for funeral arrangements, and has already raised over £1,000.

The page read: “As many of us know, this past weekend has been a tragedy not only for Casey and Natalie’s family but everyone they met on their journey in life.

“I’m asking if you would like to make a donation to help cover the cost of Casey and Natalie’s funerals to ease the stress of their grieving family and friends.

“Any donation is appreciated.”

Kent Police said they are appealing for information around the crash.

In a statement, officers said: “Officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision at Denne Hill, Womenswold near Canterbury.

"At 3.48am on Friday 14 September 2018, officers were on patrol when their attention was drawn to a Toyota Yaris parked on the A2 slip road towards Adisham Road.

"The vehicle left the scene and the officers subsequently attended Nethersole Road where they found the car had been involved in a collision.

"South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene along with the air ambulance."
