Cast and fans bid emotional farewell as 'The Goldbergs' pays tribute George Segal

Beloved “The Goldbergs” star George Segal passed away in March from complications following heart surgery, and on Wednesday the series honored him during his final episode. His co-stars, like Wendi McLendon-Covey, also paid tribute to the Oscar-nominated actor on Twitter, and remembered his hilarious character, Albert “Pops” Solomon.

“We’ll love you forever,” tweeted McLendon-Covey. “See you in our dreams.”

Segal was on the show for eight seasons, with this being his final appearance. At the end of the episode there was a dedication and medley of Segal one-liners, which touched fans.

One person tweeted, “Ugly crying. That was such a sweet tribute to the lovely George Segal and I'm so sad that we won't see him on the show anymore. Thanks for the memories Pops.” While another wrote, “Thank you George Segal for the joy, laughter and love you brought to the fans as Pops. He touched our hearts and tickled our funny bones. You were a grandpa to us all. May his memory be a blessing.”
