Castle Rock’s popular Yard Party returns this weekend as the Nottingham brewery and pub group opens its gates for the annual celebration of beer, music and food. Merrymakers can expect a selection of over 60 beers, handpicked from near and far.

The two-day extravaganza, hosted by the brewery and its tap house, the Vat & Fiddle pub in Queensbridge Road, is now in its seventh year. Connoisseurs will be particularly drawn to the line-up over 40 keg beers, 20 plus real ales and 20 more traditional ciders from some of the biggest names up and down the country.

The festival also boasts a third bar selling prosecco on draught, cocktails and gin and tonics. Foodies will not be disappointed, with names like Tough Mary’s Bakehouse, Duke’s Po Boys and Gaucho Stu putting in an appearance.

Castle Rock will also be showing it’s not just beer they’re good at, bringing pub classics to the menu with the Castle Rock Kitchen serving up burgers and chippy-inspired treats at ‘The Deep Vat Frier’.

Music is always a big feature of the Yard Party and this year’s line-up, curated by Revolution Sounds will not disappoint. Revellers can expect progressive indie rock from Days of Tomorrow, low-fi blues from Dusty 4 Track, along with a mix of funk, soul, jazz and hip hop from dynamic Yard Party favourites, Fat Digester, providing non-stop entertainment over the two days.

There will also be free brewery tours during the Yard Party on a first come, first served basis. The fun starts on Friday June 7, from 3pm-10.30pm, and continues on Saturday June 8 from 1pm-3pm.

Tickets are available online from, from £25 for the whole weekend, or £20 for a single day. For those using Castle Rock’s app-based loyalty scheme, which lets their customers earn and redeem points on purchases in the pubs, tickets are also available at Super Early Bird prices from behind the bar at the Vat & Fiddle pub. The pub will be open as usual to non-party goers as well as those with Yard Party tickets.
