Casualty will air the fallout of Cal Knight's shock death this Saturday – and there could be light at the end of the tunnel for Ethan and Alicia shippers.

Last week's episode saw Cal stabbed to death by dangerous Scott Ellison – who had vowed revenge on his brother Ethan for letting his dad pass away.

Spoiler-reading viewers had been aware that one Casualty favourite was going to be killed off in the coming weeks, but Cal's identity had been kept under wrapped until transmission.

Cal's death will have a huge impact on the ED, and this Saturday's scenes will see the team struggle to get back to normal after the devastating events of last week.

Unsurprisingly, Cal's brother Ethan is the worst affected in the aftermath – consumed with guilt over the fact that his sibling died protecting him.

However, if fans were wondering where this left his relationship with Alicia Munroe, then they might be pleased to see these pictures which show the on-off pair kissing.

Alicia has found herself torn between the two brothers over the last six months, as she dated Cal despite harbouring deep feelings for Ethan.

Luckily, it looks like Cal's death could bring them closer together as Alicia will be a pillar of support for grief-stricken Ethan in the aftermath. But will they finally decide to make a go of it? Or will Ethan allow his guilt to ruin things with Alicia again?
