Casualty will be returning to our screens this Saturday (August 19) – and these brand new pictures offer a first look at all the drama in store.

The BBC medical show has been on a three-week break following the end of series 31 and will be hitting the ground running with a special two-parter to kick off its next series.

These new pictures offer a glimpse at what fans can expect from the episodes, which will see long-running character Dylan take centre stage in a hard-hitting storyline filmed on location.

Shown over two weeks, both instalments will be set in France and will follow Dylan, David, Louise and Alicia as they head to a refugee camp to offer medical assistance.

Once in France, Dylan will find himself bonding with 12-year-old Sanosi and his sister Mariam at the camp, but later finds himself with some very difficult decisions to make over their future.

Speaking about the two-part episode, Will Beck – who plays Dylan – said: "It was so nice to do a story set away from the hospital, the look and feel is more filmic.

"The main thing however was the importance of telling this story, which has been slightly forgotten in the news recently, and realising, when you boil it down to one human story, just how relevant it still is."
