Casualty flown to hospital after serious crash on Welsh road

A person has been airlifted to hospital following a serious crash in north Wales. Emergency services were called to the A541 at Rhydymwyn near Mold in Flintshire following a crash on Tuesday afternoon, September 10.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed that they were in attendance before the road re-opened on Wednesday morning, North Wales Live reports. A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called today (10 September) to reports of a road traffic collision on Denbigh Road, Mold.

"We sent one emergency ambulance, one duty operational manager and one Cymru high acuity response unit paramedic to the scene. Advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in two Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopters. One person was flown to hospital."

On Wednesday morning, September 11, it was confirmed that the road had been reopened in both directions following earlier investigation work between Antelope Industrial Estate in Rhydymwyn and the Sychdyn turn off in Mold.
