Casualty's new winter trailer has teased the return of Amanda Mealing's Connie Beauchamp.

The BBC medical drama shared the trailer on its social media channels today (December 5), giving fans a glimpse of the dramatic scenes to come over the Christmas period and new year.

And right from the off, we see Connie back at the hospital, having departed the soap earlier this year.

Connie left in August following a storyline that saw her struggle with an addiction to prescription drugs, which led to Charlie Fairhead sadly having to dismiss her from the ED.

But last month, Digital Spy exclusively confirmed that we'll see her back on our screens on January 4, 2020. And not only that, she'll also be sporting a brand new look, which is exciting, isn't it?

When Connie makes her grand return, Amanda teased that "there are hints of romance to come" but added that "it's not what anyone will think or expect".

She also revealed that she told show executives she thinks it should take Charlie a long time to forgive Connie for her recent actions, and that Connie will eventually need to forgive herself.

Casualty airs Saturday nights on BBC One.
