Following her tragic exit as Duffy, actress Cathy Shipton has reflected on one of the more light-hearted moments from her time on Casualty.

Cathy's character sadly passed away recently after a seizure, and had been suffering from dementia since a diagnosis last year.

Looking back on her stint on the soap – which she first joined when the show launched in 1986 – the actress admitted one particular scene was the "most embarrassing" of her career.

A Casualty and Holby City fan account posted a clip of Duffy and Charlie doing an amusing salsa dance in the staff room.

Responding on Twitter, Cathy joked: "Ok, confession time....this is THE most embarrassing moment in my career so far.......and it keeps coming back! #takeitonthechin #laughatyourself"

Speaking previously about her exit from the soap, the actress said: "When they were talking about the story, I asked if they'd take it to the end for Duffy.

"I hadn't said this to them but I already knew when I went back four years ago that I wouldn't want to stay forever. I also knew that I'd want to have a story where the character died so we could shut the door completely."

As for what will happen to Charlie going forward, Cathy explained: "He's going to go through the wringer. Poor Derek is having to grow his beard out for the story and he's also dishevelled and very lonely."

Casualty airs on BBC One.
