Catalan Independence Demonstrators Block Motorway at France-Spain Border

Pro-Catalan independence demonstrators took to the AP7 motorway in the north of the region on November 11, blocking the border between France and Spain near the town of Le Perthus.

Demonstrators, who organized as part of the “democratic tsunami” movement, obstructed lanes of the motorway by setting up a stage, parking their cars and refusing to move. Police attempting to clear the protest arrived with tow trucks.
