Catalans Dragons' eight departing players and who they've signed for next season
Catalans Dragons have confirmed the eight players who will leave the club at the end of the season. The French club, who are preparing for big changes to their squad ahead of 2025, have announced the full list of players who will depart, which includes three of their existing overseas stars.
Some of the departures have already been confirmed. Micky McIlorum and Tom Davies are heading to Hull KR while England internationals Tom Johnstone and Mike McMeeken are joining Wakefield Trinity. There's also Jordan Abdull, who is returning to Hull FC in 2025.
But there are also three quota players who are departing, who will make way for some big name signings arriving at the club next year. The Dragons have announced the signings of Luke Keary, Nick Cotric and Tevita Pangai Junior for next year, but as a result, three of their existing players needed to depart.
They have now been confirmed. As expected, Manu Ma'u, who hasn't played this season, will leave, as well as Matt Ikuvalu, who Rugby League Live revealed last month had been offered to rival clubs. The third is Jarrod Wallace, the forward who arrived at the club on a short-term deal before the transfer deadline.
As well as the incoming overseas trio, Catalans have also signed Elliott Whitehead, Tommy Makinson and Oli Partington as part of an exciting recruitment drive for next season.
