Catastrophe actress and co-creator Sharon Horgan has shared a welcome update on the show's future.

Airing on Channel 4 and also featuring Deadpool 2's Rob Delaney, the sitcom apparently concluded earlier this year after its fourth series, with main characters Sharon and Rob swimming together after the latter's mum's funeral in the final scene.

In conversation with Digital Spy recently, the 49-year-old teased how Rob and Sharon's hilariously compelling story could continue.

"We often talked while we were filming about the idea of revisiting those characters. This was before we knew it was going to end," she revealed.

"We talked about revisiting them and they're that bit older and their kids are at a different stage where a whole new set of challenges come along, because there's only so many times you can watch people with small kids flail."

Sharon then admitted that this area of focus could prove an interesting playground for the characters.

"I guess getting that bit older and your kids being older and all the anxieties and new problems that come with that, that's fertile ground. But I don't know. It depends if they made it back to the shore or not I guess."

That would be typical, Catastrophe ending with Rob and Sharon eaten by sharks.

Her new show on Amazon Prime Video, Modern Love, premiered earlier this week.
