Teenager guilty of girl’s rape and murder in park

A teenager has been found guilty of the brutal rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl whose bludgeoned body was found half-naked on a park bench.

The 16-year-old lived just two streets away from his victim, Viktorija Sokolova, who he lured into a midnight meeting at a local park before attacking her in “an explosion of violence” after she refused to have sex with him.

The schoolgirl’s body was found propped up on her knees near a blood-soaked pavilion known as “black house” in West Park, Wolverhampton, on April 12, by a dog-walker who mistook her for an inflatable doll.

Angry May filmed confronting Juncker

Theresa May tried to channel her inner Margaret Thatcher as she confronted EU chief Jean-Claude Juncker in what is being branded her “handbag moment” over Brexit.

The furious prime minister took Juncker to task over Brexit in front of TV cameras at the start of the second day of the European Council summit in Brussels.

Baby boy bitten by dog dies

A baby boy who was attacked by his parents’ two Staffordshire bull terriers has died in hospital.

Little Reuben McNulty, who was less than a month old, died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital on Thursday, Cambridgeshire Police said.

The baby was left fighting for his life after the incident in Yaxley, Cambridgeshire, on November 18.
