Catching rays on the rails! Trains delayed after tracks used as impromptu sun bed

Train passengers were delayed in Germany at the weekend after someone decided to use the tracks as a sun bed.

Services between Rheydt and Mönchengladbach, in North Rhine-Westphalia, were suspended on Sunday after the person reportedly laid down on the rails.

The services were reinstated shortly after, however, after the mystery sunbather found that the makeshift bed was “too uncomfortable.”

The bizarre incident was revealed in a series of tweets by German rail operator Deutsche Bahn, reports The Local.

It came as temperatures in the area reached 27 Celsius.

Berlin is expected to experience highs of 37 degrees this week.
