Cause of Birmingham pub fire revealed after crews rush to scene
Fire crews rushed to the scene of a blaze at a Birmingham pub. Firefighters used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames at the Queens Arms in the Jewellery Quarter.
Two crews were called to Newhall Street, at the junction with Charlotte Street, from 12.40pm today, Wednesday, October 2. They were at the scene within four minutes.
BirminghamLive understands a log fire had spread to the first floor. No-one was injured during the incident.

A fire spokesman told BirminghamLive: "Shortly before 12.40pm on Wednesday (2 October), we responded to Newhall Street, Birmingham City Centre. Two fire engines from Ladywood and Highgate stations responded, the first arriving at the scene within four minutes of being mobilised.
"The fire started accidentally on the first floor of a pub. Six firefighters extinguished the fire with two hose reels. The building was ventilated and duty of care was left with the site owner, who was given fire safety advice."
