If you ask Celebrity Big Brother 2018's Ann Widdecombe, the empowering #MeToo and #TimesUp movements are really just about "destroying men".

That's the exact explanation she gave during a tense discussion about gender inequality and the recent rash of Hollywood sexual misconduct allegations in Friday night's (January 12) highlight show.

A flare-up erupted at the breakfast table when Rachel Johnson brought up "the Reckoning" of women around the world standing up to men who'd abused their power.

Ann snarked in return: "I call it the Whimpering."

Shane Jenek engaged her on the topic, questioning if this "reckoning" wasn't simply a course correction for centuries of imbalances in power between men and women.

"Women have done some horrible things to men but… now there's such a lot of whimpering, and complaining and snowflakery," Ann scoffed.

Shane certainly wasn't content to let Ann have the last word, retorting: "Because now everybody's hearing about [the allegations], people are like, 'Now you're all snowflakes' rather than just being sexually abused in the quiet."

Ann wasn't keen to take that point, again bringing her argument around to claims that the nation has developed a lust for "destroying men" over the last few years.

When Shane mentioned that men had destroyed more than their share of women's lives throughout history, Ann sniped multiple times: "Two wrongs make a right? Do they? Say yes or no!"'

At that point, Shane conceded the point that two wrongs do not make a right, leading Ann to signal an end to the debate because others at the table were clearly getting uncomfortable.

"You can pursue me later," she (cheekily) offered, then quickly added: "I mean, about this [subject]!"
