Yahoo News CBB confirms Stormy pulled out "hours" before launch
Celebrity Big Brother has confirmed in a statement that Stormy Daniels pulled out of the series "hours before the show was due to go live".
In tweets on the official show account, the Channel 5 show said that the adult star won't be entering the house, despite attempts made to renegotiate conditions.
The statement comes after months of heavy speculation that Stormy would be entering the house as well as tabloid reports since last night's launch that she withdrew at late notice.
"Stormy Daniels was booked to appear on the show several months ago, and hours before the show was due to go live, informed the production team that she no longer wished to enter the house as previously agreed," Celebrity Big Brother's statement reads.
"Producers discussed a variety of options with her but were unable to agree any acceptable conditions for her entering the house. Our focus is now on making a brilliant series with our fantastic celebrities."
Stormy has also had her say, through Loose Women.
Today's episode was set to welcome her to the show, but moments before her appearance it was revealed she could no longer speak out directly.
Instead, panellist Jane Moore relayed Stormy's side of the story after speaking to her backstage.
"She says that late last night, there was a custody development involving her daughter in America," Jane said. "She suddenly thought, 'I can't commit to this situation... Being a mother comes first'."
Jane explained that Stormy had told Celebrity Big Brother bosses she wanted to "go on the live show" and share with viewers why she was no longer appearing.
Celebrity Big Brother airs nightly on Channel 5.
