Glasgow's Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) has announced it will reopen later this year, after closing temporarily after an "incredibly tough year".

The venue on Sauchiehall Street, which as originally set up as the Third Eye Centre, gave the reasons at the time as the financial issues it faces becoming "increasingly challenging" with the team behind it saying they've "fought incredibly" hard to keep the CCA alive.

They've now confirmed that after receiving much needed funding from Creative Scotland they will reopen in April.

The CCA team posted: "We want to thank Creative Scotland for believing in us, and for the significant uplift in our funding across the next three years.

"The past year has been incredibly tough. We have fought incredibly hard to keep CCA alive and to make sure we would be here for the long term. This funding is a recognition of that fight, and a testament to the resilience, creativity and determination of our team, the artists we work with, and the community that has stood by us."

The staff have also thanked everyone who have supported them through this challenging period.

They added: "To everyone who has championed us and believed in what we do - thank you. Because of you, we’ve been able to navigate this challenging time, and now, we can look ahead with renewed energy.

"We are thrilled to confirm that CCA will fully reopen April 1, and we cannot wait to welcome you back."
