CCTV appeal after man breaks train worker's nose in vile assault at Rowley Regis station

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man officers would like to identify after a train worker was assaulted in Sandwell. The crew member was attacked by a man while onboard a service arriving at Rowley Regis railway station at around 2pm on January 28.

The thug disembarked from the train and, once on the platform, he assaulted the worker who required hospital treatment for a broken nose. The attack happened after the man was "verbally aggressive", police said.

British Transport Police today issued a CCTV image of a man officers would like to trace following the shocking incident. He was pictured wearing a black coat over a grey hooded jacket.

A force spokesperson said: "Do you recognise this man? Officers investigating an incident of assault onboard a service arriving Rowley Regis railway station are today releasing this image in connection.

"At around 2.00pm on Tuesday 28 January, a man was verbally aggressive towards a member of staff. He disembarked the train and once on the platform he assaulted the member of staff which required hospital treatment for a broken nose.

"Officers would like to speak to the man in the image as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation. Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 371 of 28 January.
