CCTV clue after man left with black eye and concussion in Rock City attack
A young man has been left with a black eye and a concussion after he was punched several times in an unprovoked attack at a popular nightclub in Nottingham city centre. The incident occurred around 1.20am on August 31 on the main dancefloor of Rock City in Talbot Street.
The 22-year-old victim was punched several times and suffered a black eye, swelling and a concussion. Police officers have now released an image of a man they believe could help them with their investigation.
They are asking for anyone who might have information about what happened or who recognises the man to come forward. PC Sam Field, who is investigating the incident, said: "I would urge anyone who recognises the man in this picture to contact us as soon as possible.
"The nightclub would’ve still been busy at the time, so we do believe people will have seen this attack take place. The victim had to go to hospital for treatment after sustaining facial injuries.
"Violence of this kind is simply not acceptable. We have conducted a number of inquiries into this incident and to identify the attacker and are now turning to the public for assistance.
"We believe the man pictured could help us further our investigation. Are you the man in the picture? Do you know who he is? Please get in touch with us if you have any information."
Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident number 54 of August 31, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
