Bootle Murders: Suspect Seen On CCTV In London

Police hunting a man over the deaths of his mother and sister have released CCTV images of him at train stations in Liverpool and London.

Peter Fox is being sought by officers after the bodies of Bernadette Fox, 57, and her 27-year-old daughter Sarah were discovered at properties in Bootle, Merseyside.

Fox, 26, is believed to have travelled to London and police have released CCTV images of him taken at Liverpool Lime Street and Euston stations on Wednesday night.

Police said he then may have travelled outside of the capital.

Sarah Fox's body was discovered at a property in Worcester Road at around 9.15pm on Thursday, while Bernadette Fox was found at an address in Brookhill Road at 4am on Friday.

Mrs Fox died of asphyxiation while her daughter was repeatedly stabbed, according to post-mortem examinations.

The suspect is described as white, between 5ft 2in and 5ft 5in and of slight build with short, dark hair - which is no longer shaved - and brown eyes.

He speaks with a Liverpool accent.

Police warned the public not to approach Fox but to dial 999 if they see him.

Anyone with information on the murders is urged to call police on 0151 777 3802 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Rooney, from Merseyside Police, said: "We are still trying to trace Peter Fox, the 26-year-old son of Bernadette, as he could have information which could assist with our investigation.

"I am re-appealing to Peter to come forward so that we can speak to him following the murders of his mother and sister.

"We know that Peter travelled by train to London on Wednesday night and we are working with the Metropolitan Police to try and find him.

"Although we know he travelled to London that night he may well have gone on to travel outside of the London area."

He added: "Peter's family have been left devastated by the deaths of Bernadette and Sarah and they would also urge Peter to come forward to help the detectives investigating these murders."
