CCTV image released by police after security guard at Four Lane Ends Metro Station was racially abused

Police have released CCTV of a man they would like to identify after a suspected hate crime in North Tyneside.

It was reported a man has verbally abused a security guard at Four Lane Ends Metro Station on Benton Lane by making racist comments at about 8pm on Sunday, March 17. The victim was left distressed by the incident and contacted police.

Enquiries are ongoing and as part of their investigation, officers have identified a man who they would like to speak to.

He was in the area at the time and could have valuable information that can assist the investigation.

Northumbria Police would like to reassure the public that racism will not be tolerated and action will be taken to bring offenders to justice.
