Police have issued a plea for help after a reportedly "serious" early-hours assault in Solihull. The reported assault took place in April but Solihull Police asked the public today, June 7, if they can help identify the man pictured in the appeal.

The force issued a CCTV image of the man they would like to speak to in connection with the reported offence. No exact time was given for the incident, but officers confirmed it took place in the early hours of Saturday April 6 on High Street in Solihull.

They added the 'serious' early hours assault allegedly took place outside a bar in High Street, but that venue has not been identified. Officers provided a CCTV image and a log number so that anyone who has information that can help, can get in touch directly.

The picture is slightly grainy but you can make out a man in a black shirt, with facial hair. The force released the appeal on X, formerly Twitter, on June 7.

A Solihull Police spokesperson said: "Do you know who this is? We would like to speak with him following a serious assault outside a bar in High Street, Solihull, in the early hours of 6 April.
