Merseyside Police have issued CCTV images of a man who could have information that may assist with their enquiries following an alleged racially aggravated incident at a Wavertree shop. It was reported on Tuesday, September 3 that a man entered a mobile shop on Picton Road and, following a disagreement, became aggressive and made racist remarks to the shop assistant.

He then left the shop and when the assistant followed him he brandished a knife. The offender then rode off on a black electric pedal bike and no injuries were sustained.

Detective Inspector James Halpin said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim, who should not feel intimidated or threatened in this manner while trying to earn an honest living. We will thoroughly investigate reports of those targeted through hate crime.”
