Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with an attempted robbery in Fenstanton last week. Police are appealing for information after a man entered the Post Office, in Rookery Place, armed with what appeared to be a handgun, at just before 9pm on Thursday (September 12).

The man pointed the weapon at the cashier behind the counter and then towards the till and signalled for her to empty it. The victim, a woman in her 20s, managed to shut the till and run to the back of the premises. No items were taken.

Detective Sergeant James Rabbett, of Cambridgeshire Police, said: “This was an extremely frightening experience for the victim and I’m keen to hear from anyone who has information or dashcam or doorbell footage from the area between 8pm and 10pm yesterday evening.”
