CCTV Shows Murder Suspect Jed Allen At Station

Police have released CCTV pictures of triple-murder suspect Jed Allen at Oxford railway station's WHSmith store.

The 21-year-old is suspected of stabbing to death his six-year-old sister, their mother and her partner at a house in Didcot on Saturday.

Police said the CCTV was recorded just before 6pm on the same day.

Det Supt Chris Ward, head of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: "We believe that Jed boarded a train from Didcot to Oxford at 5.24pm and arrived in Oxford at 5.45pm.

"He was then captured on CCTV at the WHSmith store at Oxford railway station just before 6pm.

"Jed is wearing a red or maroon shirt, a dark hooded jacket with a white trim on the zip, blue jeans and black shoes.

"After visiting WHSmith, we believe that Jed then walked to Oxford University Parks."

Allen is a former groundsman at the parks - which are now closed while more than 100 officers, including national search specialists, comb the area.

Allen is described as white, 6ft tall and well-built with a distinctive spider tattoo on his left hand.

Police are urging anyone who sees him to call 999 and not approach him.

Det Supt Chris Ward warned: "If anyone is harbouring Jed Allen then you need to know that this is a serious offence and we would ask you to contact us immediately."

The bodies of Derin Jordon, aged six, Janet Jordon, 48, and her partner Philip Howard, 44, were discovered in a house in Vicarage Road, Didcot, on Saturday night.

Police said they believe they have found the murder weapon inside the house.

Border forces are on alert in case Allen tries to leave the country and a small number of armed officers are involved in the manhunt "purely for the safety of the searching officers".

Pictures on Allen's Instagram account show him posing with three knives between his fingers, imitating comic book hero Wolverine.

In others he is pictured holding a large hunting knife and knuckleduster.

His Facebook profile also includes status updates such as "Fed up of being treated like dirt" and "Works turned sour already".

The Jordon family had been living at the Vicarage Road address in Didcot for two months.

Sheila Welch, who lives in the same street, said that although she did not know the family, they always looked "happy" and were "a lovely mother and a little girl".

People have been laying flowers and candles outside the house and also at All Saints Primary School in Didcot.

Head teacher John Myers described six-year-old Derin as a "beautiful, gentle, happy little girl".

Parents say they are struggling to explain to their children what has happened.

Pupils have been able to leave notes and pictures for Derin, said Sky News' Siobhan Robbins, who is outside the school.

"One of them was absolutely heartbreaking," she said. "It just said: 'To my best best friend Dezzy'."

One note on a bunch of flowers outside the family's home said: "You are my family and always will be. I will miss you all each day... You have all left a massive void in my heart which will never be filled.

"I love you all so much, Jan, Phil and my Dezzy Do."

Post-mortem examinations of the victims are scheduled to take place today and tomorrow.
