Celebrity Big Brother hasn't wasted much time this series, has it?

Not only has the latest series of the long-running reality show launched on the second day of 2018, but minutes after the final contestant entered the famous house, we jumped straight into the first live task.

Emma Willis explained that more housemates will join the show from Friday (January 5), but won't be able to vote. That doesn't mean our current housemates are immune from being nominated... unless they win an immunity pass.

Tonight's task saw the housemates trying to fix a fuse to restore power to the house, which was quickly won by the duo of Amanda Barrie and Jess Impiazzi, who now have immunity from the first eviction.

If you weren't already aware, 2018 marks 100 years since women first achieved the right to vote in the UK, and therefore this series is known as the 'Year of the Woman'.

Tonight's launch saw an all-female audience and, more importantly, an all-female line-up of housemates. Those aforementioned housemates who are entering on Friday will be men, but the ladies will be wearing the trousers.
