Anya Taylor-Joy and Matt Smith have sparked dating rumours after appearing together at Venice Film Festival.

The pair were caught putting on a cosy display during a boat ride in Venice on Saturday before walking the red carpet together at the premiere of their film, Last Night In Soho, during the 78th edition of the film festival.

The Queen’s Gambit actress wore a fuschia Dior gown with a matching beret and shoes as she posed for pictures on the red carpet alongside Mr Smith, who wore a black suit with a dark grey shirt and dress shoes.

During their boat trip earlier in the day, Ms Taylor-Joy was seen stroking the actor’s hair as they made their way to the event.

The Crown actor could also be seen with one arm resting behind Ms Taylor-Joy.

Mr Smith previously dated actress Lily James for five years, before the couple went their separate ways in 2020.

Meanwhile, Ms Taylor-Joy was reportedly dating Malcolm McRae in July.

The pair both star in Last Night In Soho, which was one of the films pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The film centres on a young fashion student, Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie), who moves to London and ends up transported back to the 1960s and into the body of a singer (Anya Taylor-Joy).

The time-hopping psychological thriller received a standing ovation at the film festival and has received rave reviews from critics.

The film is directed by Edgar Wright and will be released next month.
